Once again, Stephanie Plum is in the middle of mayhem, hijinx and dealing with a scary killer, or two. She’s embroiled in one case regarding the bonding agency, involving the annoying Randy Briggs (from previous books) and also helping Ranger find a man he used to know when he was in special ops, who happens to be planning an act of terrorism that will kill thousands of people. Not to mention he wants revenge on Ranger for a past incident, and he’s set his sights on Steph to get back at him.
Still funny, but not as funny as books of the past, but Lula and Grandma Mazur quite often steal the show and make me laugh until I cry. Stephanie seems to have the patience of a saint when it comes to those two and what they get up to. Always a fast paced read, and yes, probably the same type of story over and over again, but still a fun, easy read. Stephanie has pretty much chosen Morelli, but can’t seem to let Ranger go. Can’t fault her for that, since I probably wouldn’t either and it keeps the story interesting. This is the perfect summer beach read. You don’t necessarily have to read them in order, but it’s a lot more fun if you do.
